I am a conceptual artist working across sculpture, print, video, and installation. My practice stems from a personal struggle with communication, reflecting a wider cultural sense of disconnect. By mirroring the world around me, I explore the tension between misunderstanding and connection—capturing fleeting moments and expressing the intangibility of time.
At the core of my work is the subtle interplay between surrender and resistance, which I see as both intuitive acts of the creative process and the underlying rhythm of existence. I draw universal meaning from the mundane, interpreting everyday elements as quiet signals of guidance encountered through the motions of daily life.
A sense of timelessness is central to my practice. I seek clarity amid the noise and theatricality of our digital age. My visual language often subverts a nostalgic British sensibility; with a sardonic tone, I distort notions of time, memory, and permanence to reclaim and articulate my own uncertainties.
Rooted in personal reflection, my process is a pursuit of quieter forms of connection—in attempt to understand and express the shared fabric of life. I find inspiration in the soft surrender to the unknown, letting this openness guide both my making and my meaning.
In 2019, I launched ‘+44 leave a Message for Europe’ - a public, part digital and part physical project which centred around live web cam stream of a sculpture of a telephone box installed on Dungeness beach, Kent. The public were invited to call the sculpture online, no matter what their opinion, and leave their voice messages for Europe during the 28 day lead up to Britain's original departure date from the EU, 29th March 2019. The project was extended into April and the full archive of voice messages is available to listen to at www.leaveamessage4europe.com Collating both the footage and the voice archive, I developed the project into a time-based media work titled 28 Days in March….which is available to watch in the WORK section of this website.
